Our house

Originally built in 1903 as a tourist restaurant for the people of Lübeck, “Arnimsruh” was converted into a breakfast hotel in 1989.

The former restaurant now serves as our breakfast room and the former ballroom has been replaced by a new room complex with 12 spacious hotel rooms. Vestiges of Arnimsruh’s long history are found everywhere in the house.

For example, enjoy the cozy warmth of our antique tiled stove on a winter’s evening in our reading corner or end a summer day with a cool drink on our brick veranda.

Location

You will find our small house in the easter of Lübeck in the quiet district of St. Gertrud. Directly behind the houses of our street is the largest city forest in Lübeck, the Lauerholz. With approx. 3000 hectares the Lauerholz is the green lung of Lübeck and extends to the border to Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. In just 3 minutes you dive into the world of hare and fox and leave the city behind. So it’s ideal to have a walk after a long journey or long working day or to keep fit with a jogging session. With the window open you will be woken up in the morning by our “neighbors from the forest” with a happy twittering.

The historic old town of Lübeck is located about 4 km away and can be easily reached by bus, which departs regularly in front of our house.

Water is omnipresent in Lübeck. Just 10 minutes by car you find the river Trave, which connects Lübeck with the Baltic Sea. And if you want to put your feet directly into the waves of the Baltic Sea, Travemünde awaits you 15 km away.

Due to the good connection to the A1 and the A226 you can bypass the city center and reach the western Lübeck uncomplicated and fast.

Also the A20 direction Rostock and Schwerin is reached in about quarter of an hour.

Our hotel has 12 bright double rooms, comfortably furnished, with 24m² generously sized and available optionally with one double bed or two separate beds. All rooms are located on the backside with view to the garden or Major Arnim’s monument, which gave our house its name.

Equipment

Our rooms are equipped with a small sitting area, modern flat-screen TVs with digital cable TV (partly in HD), powerful hair dryers and direct dial telephones. Our guests can use free Wi-Fi throughout the house.

Free parking is available in front of the house. Bicycles can be parked in our bicycle garage free of charge.

We ask for your understanding that pets are not allowed at our house.
Please note that our house is a non-smoking hotel.
Your rooms are available from 14:00 on the day of arrival until 11:00 on the day of departure.
In addition to cash payment we accept card payments via electronic cash, maestro, VISA and Mastercard.

About me

As passionate hosts, we love giving our guests a good time in our house and giving them the feeling of being “at home”.

As a trained restaurant specialist and expert, I spent many years in 4 and 5-star hotels in Lübeck.
For a long time I had the dream to manage my own little hotel, where I can welcome our guests in a cozy and warm atmosphere.

What started out as a dream became a concrete plan. So I was overjoyed to be able to take over the traditional “Hotel Arnimsruh” at the end of 2012, which was managed in the third generation in Lübeck.

To preserve the unique charm of this house without stopping to develop and improve, is our daily motivation and together with happy guests our purpose and satisfaction.
